Avatr, backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL, officially unveiled the exterior of its flagship 9-series SUV on September 8, 2026. The company released three official images while withholding the model's official name and additional specifications at this stage.

The design imagery reveals distinctive features including a closed front grille with dense dot-matrix patterning, split headlights and a LiDAR sensor mounted atop the roof. The sensor is expected to be Huawei Qiankun's dual-optical-path, 896-channel imaging-grade LiDAR, previously deployed in the Avatr 07L launched one month prior.

The vehicle displays a bold design language combining a boxy body structure with partially concealed door handles, densely spaced radial wheel spoke patterns and a panoramic glass roof. The SUV adopts a dual-tone finish pairing a silver upper body with a white lower section.

Avatr vice president Yong Jun characterized the vehicle as Avatr's "first model developed in full collaboration with Huawei in the true sense," integrating Huawei's vehicle control, lighting, voice and intelligent driving technologies. The debut enters a fiercely competitive segment for large six-seat flagship SUVs, positioning against established rivals including Aito M9, Li Auto L9, Denza N9 and IM LS9.

Avatr stated that additional information will be released in stages. The company's president Chen Zhuo confirmed the year-end 2026 launch window. The 9-series represents a significant milestone in the depth of Avatr and Huawei's partnership beyond their existing integration of driving and cockpit systems.
