Denza, BYD's premium brand, added a new Z9GT variant featuring e3 tri-motor technology priced 40,000 yuan below the existing all-electric Performance model. Denza general manager Li Hui stated the introduction addresses consumer feedback requesting advanced driving capabilities with simplified equipment packages.

The new variant incorporates BYD's second-generation Blade Battery with 122.5-kWh capacity and achieves a CLTC range of 860 kilometers, exceeding the Performance version's 820-kilometer rating. The front motor delivers maximum output of 230 kW, while each rear motor produces 310 kW. The variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, compared with 2.7 seconds for the Performance model.

Braking and tire specifications differentiate the two variants. The new version employs 4-piston front brake calipers with 255/45 R20 tires, while Performance includes 6-piston calipers, carbon-ceramic brake discs, and 255/40 R21 tires. Both variants maintain a 4.62-meter minimum turning radius and support compass turns, with top speeds of 240 km/h and 270 km/h respectively.

Identical charging performance characterizes both models, achieving 10 to 70 percent charge in 5 minutes and 10 to 97 percent in 9 minutes. Each incorporates the God's Eye 5.0 driver-assistance system and DiSus-A intelligent air body control system. The addition expands the Z9GT all-electric lineup to four variants. As of 28 August 2026, BYD had established over 10,000 flash charging stations across 332 cities.
