Geely Galaxy announced on September 8 that pre-sales for the Cruiser 700 will commence on September 15, marking a significant milestone in bringing this rugged off-road SUV to market. The Cruiser 700, representing the brand's inaugural entry into the rugged SUV segment, made its debut on July 24 and is scheduled for an official market launch later in 2026.

The vehicle employs a plug-in hybrid powertrain utilising three electric motors that produce a combined output of 830 kW (1,113 hp). All variants come equipped with a 47.14-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by CATL, with engine options comprising either a 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre turbocharged unit. The battery provides an electric range between 165 and 185 kilometres across available variants.

Dimensions place the five-seat Cruiser 700 at 5,085 millimetres in length with a 2,900-millimetre wheelbase. Its boxy exterior styling incorporates a side-opening tailgate and externally mounted spare tyre following traditional off-road vehicle aesthetics. The SUV integrates Geely's proprietary GVMC motion control system enabling functions such as crab walking and tank turns. Additional capabilities include wading depth support to 800 millimetres, roof-mounted LiDAR, satellite connectivity and advanced driver-assistance features.

The Cruiser 700's market entry reflects intensifying competition within China's rugged SUV segment, where manufacturers including BYD and GWM have introduced multiple competing models. Industry focus increasingly centres on electrification and intelligent driving capabilities. Timing of the pre-sales announcement aligns with Geely Galaxy's recent sales momentum, with August deliveries reaching 119,115 units, representing 7.63 percent year-on-year growth and marking three consecutive months of annual gains.
