Kia Expands PV5 Electric Van to 10 Body Styles, Including 7-Seater Configuration

Kia announced on September 9, 2026 a significant expansion of its PV5 electric van offerings during the PBV Production Hub Tech Day event. The four newly introduced body styles include the PV5 Prime, a 5-seater Passenger variant arranged as 1-2-2, a 7-seater Passenger configuration in 2-2-3 layout, alongside Cargo Compact and Chassis Cab Donor options.
All PV5 variants are constructed on the E-GMP.S modular platform, enabling Kia to interchange body styles and create tailored configurations. This architectural flexibility underpins Kia's strategy to address diverse market segments globally.
During the first eight months of 2026, Kia achieved cumulative global PV5 sales surpassing 39,000 units, demonstrating the vehicle's market traction. Production occurs at the dedicated Hwaseong EVO facility in South Korea, which maintains annual production capacity of up to 200,000 electric vans.
Kia will reveal the larger PV7 on September 14, 2026 at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany. The PV7 will similarly be offered in multiple body configurations and will be manufactured at Hwaseong EVO. A larger PV9 variant is anticipated around 2030, completing Kia's expanding Platform Beyond Vehicle Business portfolio.
