The one-minute read

Polestar launched the Polestar 4 SUV on September 2, 2026, reintroducing a conventional rear window that was absent from the original 2023 coupé. The new bodystyle represents a direct response to criticism of the coupé's roof-mounted camera that replaced the rear window and fed a digital rear-view mirror. The SUV provides a standard conventional rear mirror while offering the camera-based system as an optional feature for customers who prefer it.

Built on the same Geely SEA platform as the updated coupé, the SUV's straighter roofline and more upright tailgate create additional interior space. Total storage capacity reaches 1,680 litres, with luggage capacity expanding to 1,665 litres when rear seats fold flat. The taller design adds 2.5 centimetres of second-row headroom compared to the coupé. A panoramic glass roof stretches to the tailgate, available in an electrochromic option unique to the SUV that allows occupants to dim the glass through the centre display. Roof rails support a dynamic load capacity of 100 kilograms.

All variants are equipped with a 100 kWh battery. The single rear-motor version delivers 200 kilowatts (272 horsepower) and reaches up to 630 kilometres of WLTP range, accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometres in 7.3 seconds. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces 400 kilowatts (544 horsepower) and 686 newton-metres, completing the acceleration sprint in 3.9 seconds with up to 600 kilometres of range.

Pricing begins at €57,900 for the rear-motor version, €65,900 for the dual-motor, and €76,300 for the Performance pack (German pricing including VAT). Production commenced in Busan, South Korea, during the second quarter of 2026, with customer deliveries planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
